About

     Hello!

I'm Hana. I make music. Buzzfeed calls me a "blue and green dream scene," but there's more to me than my fabulous mermaid hair. I am a proud Survivor, a Thriver, and a Mental Illness Warrior. I believe self-love is the answer and music is one of the most powerful tools we have to heal and connect. I'm obsessed with sunflowers & elephants, and I really like tea.

Read on for the rest!

I'm a pop-powerhouse singer-songwriter out of Boston, described as powerful, passionate, and filled with "emotional nakedness and elegant musicianship" [The Deli Magazine] - and I'm on a mission: Spread self-love as far and wide as I can through music and story-telling.

I experienced my first trauma at 7, and my first bipolar episode at 13. From that point on, I absorbed the idea that mental illness made me 'sick', that PTSD made me incapable, and that I should accept society's message to never speak of my struggles.

When I was 20, I hit my first and only experience with domestic violence. Leaving that relationship, I realized I could change: I could turn toward self-love and live a full life - something I had never thought possible before then.

I began by launching a blog, using writing as a way to share my experiences, and my journey of healing.
"Once I began to publicly share my experiences, I faced the reality of how many people have been through similar struggles, and are still struggling behind closed doors," I told Vanyaland. The blog gradually became combined with my songwriting, until I turned into a professional artist, musician, and entrepreneur!

I've spent the past few years pursuing and releasing pop music, earning a nomination for the Boston Music Awards and New England Music Awards Pop Artist of the Year 2018. I've performed at festivals like Lowell Folk Fest and Brandeis Folk Festival; collaborated with charities like BARCC (Boston Area Rape Crisis Center) and This Is My Brave to create a safe space for Survivors and raise awareness of mental illness; and opened for artists like Ruby Rose Fox.

2019 brings my Thrivers movement, complete with tour dates and new music releases! Stay tuned.
