3 Ways to Convert Your Followers ($$$)

Okay, let’s start by debunking this l’il rumor: It is NOT about your numbers. We’ve all heard this before, but most of us are still here refreshing our Instagram profiles everyday to see if we’ve gained any more followers.

Here’s the secret: Your number of followers DOES NOT = $$$! You can have thousands of followers and never make a dime, and you can have 300 followers and make a healthy living. How?

Customer Conversion: Converting your followers into customers who financially support your business, turning them from photo-tapping scrollers into paying clientele.

So, how do we convert our followers? Let’s dive in, beautiful!
START WITH A DIRECTION:
When we’re looking to convert our followers into paying customers, we want to get them off of social media and onto a platform where they’ll feel engaged, involved, and encouraged to invest in your business.

Social media is an amazing tool, and the fact is that we don’t control the algorithm. We’re providing content on a feed that is saturated with so many other content options; it’s hard to grab the attention of our followers long enough to truly engage them!

Before we guide them to a service/sale from our social media platform, we need to know where we're guiding them to. What’s your best platform to receive sales? Is it your website, online store, iTunes page, membership site?

You can guide your followers to a platform directly for purchasing/investing in your services; you can also guide them to a platform that will continue developing your relationship with them, such as a blog or email list.

I know you: You’re not self-employed because you're seeking easy money (this takes hard freakin' work)! You’re in it because you know you have something to offer the world.
That is the fuel you use when you’re selling: What are you offering, and where can you direct your followers so they can benefit from that offer?

TELL YOUR FOLLOWERS:
How many of your followers KNOW about the ways they can engage in your services? While our end goal is to get followers off of social media and onto your site, social media is the tool to begin relationship development with your followers - and they need to know how to continue the relationship!

  • Make sure your profile links bring your followers to the platform they can purchase off of or engage in further
  • Talk about what you do! Use your captions to tell your followers what you offer them. They know you’re a musician - but do they know how they can get through their heartbreak by listening to your song? They know you’re a life coach - but do they know how much they’re lives will change by working with you?
  • Review your bios: Do they clearly lay out what you offer?

CALL TO ACTION:
No way around it: We've gotta ask for the sale. To do this, we provide a Call to Action to our followers: We provide them with an ask or a task at the end of our post to encourage engagement. This doesn’t have to be a direct ask for a sale. This could look like:

  • Giving your audience something to think about: “This is how I deal with X, Y, and Z. This week, I want you to think about ways you can deal with it, too.”
  • Asking for a like. “Double tap if you agree!” “Hit that love button if you love music as much as I do!”
  • A post about something you love unrelated to your business, i.e. coffee. You could end your post saying, “What’s your favorite way to drink coffee?”

Get your audience used to the idea that they can engage with you, and are regularly asked to do so. That way, when you do ask for the sale, it feels like a natural transition and comes across as service and engagement, not sales.

Let's put this in perspective:

If you have 1,000 followers who are willing to invest 100$ in your services each year - you’ve hit a 6-figure lifestyle. Service comes with abundance, my babe. Get after it.
